Sherlyn is the Founder of Emberz.  She started her career in Investment banking with J.P. Morgan in the US focused on the Consumer Sector.  Sherlyn has more than a decade of finance and strategy experience in the consumer tech space spanning across US and Asia.  Sherlyn provides the strategic direction, partnership execution and brand portfolio development that serves as the foundation for Emberz.

Prior to founding Emberz, she was Head of J.P. Morgan’s Consumer & Retail Investment Banking franchise in Asia and has advised on a wide range of transactions (>US$100 billion) from her time at J.P. Morgan in the US and Asia.  Sherlyn was also a senior adviser to Crescent Point Capital Management (Acquired by Ares Management Corp), a Consumer sector focused investment management fund with c.US$3 billion AUM and also sits on the advisory board of Evolve Capital Asia a fully licensed financial advisory and investment fund management firm regulated by the Monetary Authority of Singapore.

Sean is the Founder of Emberz. Having travelled around Asia and lived in China for over 8 years provided him with a multitude of different business experiences. Starting off with the manufacturing & brand development of electronic cigarettes. Being involved in multiple brand launches in a highly competitive industry taught him the entire process of research & development, branding, social media, tradeshows and retail distribution. Taking these skillsets, he created one of the first marketing and branding design firms in Shenzhen, China.

Working with some of the biggest companies in Shenzhen such as UBTECH, LEJU, ZTE & Global E-grow E-commerce (Currently known as Shein). His marketing agency was acquired by one of the biggest e-cig brands in the market and he was made Regional Director for STIG international. Wanting to go back to his entrepreneurial roots, he founded EMBERZ brands, the parent company for NUDE Mints. Creating community driven brands that build awareness through digital advertising and influencer partnerships. Influencing the retail market in America and allowing for retail distribution with significant sales velocity.

Jonathan has more than a decade’s worth of experience in digital marketing and has worked with the world’s largest consumer, telecommunications, and finance brands to help reach millions of people. He was a founding member of Havas Media in the Philippines, spent 2 years in Hong Kong with Group M as Colgate-Palmolive’s agency-on-record’s Digital Planning Lead, and then spent another 2 years in Google Philippines’ Performance Marketing team to help the country’s largest banks and airlines help get real business results from digital marketing.

He has received national and regional citations for his work, including Southeast Asia’s Planner of the Year from Campaign Asia-Pacific in 2012 and the ’40 Under 40′ List of rising talent from the same magazine in 2013. He has since left the advertising and media industry to focus solely on e-commerce business building: the first two of which are HairMNL.com for professional hair care products and Boozy.ph for liquor delivery, both of which are market leaders in the Philippines.

Jantra Jacobs is a content creator and social media strategist guiding the digital presence of Evil Snacks and Nude Mints. With a strong background in writing, editing, and brand storytelling, she brings thoughtful, intentional creativity to every campaign. Beyond her work with the brands, she develops creative projects and collaborates with conscious brands rooted in lifestyle and wellness.

Richard is the Head of Interactive Commerce for Emberz. He is responsible for business development and technical strategy for crypto and metaverse initiatives to enhance shopping experiences, customer engagement and retention.

Richard is a seasoned entrepreneur, business strategist, investor and operator in various new economy companies. During the course of his professional career, he has spearheaded strategy and operated businesses in each of the functions of E-Commerce, 5G, and Web3. Richard is fluent in both English and Mandarin Chinese and has developed businesses in the US, China and Southeast Asia. Richard holds two post graduate degrees from Stanford University’s Post Graduate Electrical Engineering Program and National University of Singapore’s Post Graduate Financial Engineering Program.

Corey Cruz is a creative director with over 25 years of experience in design and advertising, having led integrated, digital, UX/UI, social, and CRM teams internationally. She has received awards and honours at major international advertising festivals, including Cannes, One Show, Spikes, and AdFest, and has served as a creative jury member at international award shows, most recently at AdStars and Clios Digital.

Corey has science and visual communication degrees and in a past life was a scientist in a molecular biology and biotech lab. Art and science are her twin loves—the subjects of her TEDx talk and continuing personal projects.

Namtan brings over a decade of experience in marketing and branding within the consumer products sector internationally. Her personal health journey and a desire to live more purposefully have driven her to embark on a career shift, becoming a change maker to promote conscious living and conscious marketing practices, fostering a more sustainable living and ecosystem for ourselves and our planet.

Dave Schaaf is a business and technology leader who bridges the gap between data science, corporate strategy, and operations. He specializes in leveraging operational analytics and data engineering to drive organizational innovation.

Dave’s career is defined by a blend of technical and financial experiences. He has served as a Software Engineer at Lenda and held strategic roles in corporate strategy and finance at Cisco, NIO, and J.P. Morgan. Most recently, as CEO of a manufacturing company, he led a comprehensive digital transformation, evolving traditional operations into a tech-enabled enterprise through the strategic deployment of automation and cloud-based infrastructure.

Dave holds a B.A. from Northwestern University in Mathematical Methods in the Social Sciences and Economics. He is currently pursuing a Master of Information and Data Science at UC Berkeley.
